Biography
Specializing in respiratory disorders in children, Basil graduated from the University of Khartoum, Sudan and then went on to complete his PhD thesis at the University of Birmingham (UK) on the control of breathing in children. He then completed his training in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Respiratory Medicine in the UK and Ireland. He began practicing as a Pediatric Respiratory Consultant in 2002.He was appointed in one of the leading hospitals in Ireland, as Consultant in Pediatric Respiratory Medicine at the National Children’s Hospital/Our Lady’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin. During his medical career in Dublin, Basil worked as a Consultant Pediatric Pulmonologist, with clinical and research interests in asthma, chronic cough, cystic fibrosis and sleep disordered breathing in children
