Market Analysis

Neonatal Medicine Market Segmentation

As per the projections for the neonatal medicine market, thermoregulation devices are anticipated to capture a significant market share in the upcoming years. Maintaining proper thermoregulation is crucial, especially for sick neonates and newborns, as hypothermia in this population increases the likelihood of morbidity and mortality. Various techniques have been employed to assess and ensure thermoregulation in infants, aiming to create a thermo-neutral environment to sustain their normal body temperature. In February 2014, GE Healthcare introduced a new product as part of its advanced suite of maternal-infant care solutions. This development is geared towards supporting a healthy developmental environment during pregnancy and throughout the first day of life, addressing critical moments in the care of infants. Specifically, in the Middle East, GE Healthcare launched the Giraffe Omnibed, a specialized product designed for the neonatal microenvironment, combining the thermal advantages of an open bed radiant warmer. Additionally, the new Giraffe Blue Spot PT Lite product offers high-intensity phototherapy. With its high-intensity blue light in the narrow band of 430-490 nanometers, it provides excellent uniformity and allows caregivers to effectively and flexibly position therapeutic light directly on the infant's body.

Neonatal Medicine Market by End-Use

As indicated by the analysis of the neonatal medicine industry, it is anticipated that the hospital segment will emerge as the dominant force in the market in 2021. This prevalence is attributed to the public's preference for hospitals over clinics, driven by the accessibility of advanced technical equipment and a highly skilled workforce. Additionally, the substantial majority of births taking place in hospital settings contribute to the escalating demand for neonatal medicine, further propelling the growth of the market.
