Market Analysis

Global Neonatal Infant Care market By Product type:

Thermoregulation is a crucial function for sick neonates and infants. Hypothermia significantly increases the risk of both morbidity and mortality in these vulnerable patients. Newborns and young children are particularly susceptible to poor thermoregulation due to factors such as high metabolic rates, permeable skin, exposure to intrauterine temperatures, and immature control systems including the vasomotor system, hypothalamus, and central nervous system.

The neonatal infant care market for nursing homes is projected to grow by over 8% through 2026. This growth is driven by improvements in healthcare facilities, the presence of specialized healthcare professionals, and an increase in newborn admissions. Neonatal nursing, a specialized field dedicated to the care of young infants, is expected to benefit from heightened awareness of nursing homes, the specialized care they offer, and advancements in treatment equipment, all contributing to market expansion.

Global Neonatal Infant Care market By Region

The U.S. led the North American neonatal infant care market, valued at USD 773.6 million in 2019. The presence of major market players in the U.S. is expected to significantly drive market growth in the region. Future growth will be supported by increased healthcare spending and a rising number of product approvals. Additionally, the high rate of infant mortality in the U.S. is anticipated to be a major factor driving market expansion.

In Japan, the market was valued at approximately USD 155 million in 2019 and is projected to grow at a robust CAGR during the forecast period. Japan is recognized for its strong infant healthcare sector. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, there were about 1,800 infant deaths in 2017. This high neonatal mortality rate is expected to create important growth opportunities in the market. Furthermore, recent advancements in technology and increased healthcare expenditure are likely to further boost market demand in the region.
